Doki Doki Delight

Spoiler Alert !!Spoiler Alert !!
Green Peas Peace!

Joe Hant

Go-On Green, Joe Hant, was overwhelmed with the Go-Ongers' coolness when he caught sight of them while working as a delivery boy for Doki Doki Pizza, teaming up with Gunpei to get noticed by them and eventually joining them. He was glad at first to become a Go-onger, but despite playing a side role, left a rather bad impression with viewers as an unserious personality only interested in girls and money. Obsessed with getting rich, he almost leaves the team for his dream of becoming the next in line of an ultra-wealthy grandpa's inheritance. Even after becoming a hero, he continues part-time side-hustles such as creating artificial flowers, lying to Ren to hide the unsavory fact that his motivation for working at a crepe stall was enjoying talking to his female customers more than with the Go-Ongers. His frivolous personality is even noticed by an unrelated man who recruits him to join his Natural Fighting School in order to purify Hant's spirit (though it doesn't work). To the contrary, it seems like girls serve as more of a motivation to him, and though he sometimes helps his friends by defeating Gaiark with his flashy skills, it's a rare occasion.

Hant is always taken by Kegalesia's beauty when she tries to blend into the human world, once even falling into a waterfall basin when trying to impress her, seriously injuring his actor in the process. Does that he isn't interested in her when she's Kegalesia mean that he isn't drawn to her looks, instead being attracted to the human part of her heart? Or does he just hate Kegalesia's fashion sense? This strain unfortunately ends without any answers or development.

However, Hant begins to mature through his interaction with the team, and even becomes a popular character who always brightens the situation with a smile. He often mentions his grandmas in Hokkaido and Kyushu, which leads us to think he's a grandma's boy, which we get a glimpse of when he cross dressed for the sake of an old woman who had lost her granddaughter. His consideration for those in weak positions and pure heart are his best points, which we also see when he is kind to the children who came from samurai world and gives them candy.

It seems like the stuffed teddy bear in Ginjiro-go is his, and from a certain point in the series (maybe because he had a bad reception), his childish aspect that kids can relate with, which was there from the beginning, starts to be emphasized more.

By the end of the series, his obsession with girls and money has settled down, and he grows into a distinguished hero who can adapt himself to and cooperate with his surroundings. He cared for Gunpei's, together with whom he entered the team, wounded body when they went to a sento together after Gunpei was hurt in a fight, and their discussing their pride as Go-Ongers and dreams together was memorable. After ending his eventful life as a Go-Onger that taught him so much, he ended up returning to his part-time job lifestyle, which suggests that he may have gone back to his original self after all he learned. Freely living in the moment is certainly a Hant-like way to go out...

At the Sky Theater events at the Korakuen Amusement Park, Hant tried to make the phrase "Green Peas Peace" catch on amongst the kids. Fellow Hant fans, let's keep this phrase alive! (Just be sure to specify that there's no connection to a certain environmental protection organization.)

Go-on Green

Hant uses his Go-Phone to transform into Go-On Green, who, even though the usual Hant is so slim that he seems like he could be blown away on the wind, is known for his super-buff body, which is why he's able to wield the hefty Bridge Ax. As a fighter he's a power type whose special abilities are all forceful and destructive, a total 180 compared to him before transformation. His post-transformation catchphrase is "Doki Doki Delight! Go-on Green!" When the Engine Souls are stolen by Kegalasia, he dogezas requesting their return, attempting a sneak attack, a rather disgraceful act for a hero.
Birca
His partner is the Engine Birca, who combines the features of a killer whale and bike with an extremely bright and laid-back personality. Like Hant, he loves girls, and was initially excited when he misunderstood and thought that Saki was his partner. His special attack is the Bircutter. He speaks Japanese interjected with pseudo-Italian. His feature version of the Engine Rap is in a Latin style. It's never explained in the series itself, but Birca speaks in this strange way because Bakuryuu Parasorokkiru, the character he is based on, is from South America and mixes Spanish in with his speech. Birca only won the eyecatch race between the Engines one time.

Cross Dressing

If I don't include this topic in his shrine I know other fans will get angry. One of Hant's defining characteristics is more frequent crossdressing than any other Sentai character. Maybe because viewers appreciated how his enjoying crossdressing brought out his original charm, there ended up being 4 such occasions. It became a way for Hant, whose individuality was until then difficult to develop, to stand out, and there's no doubt that it still contributes to whatever level of popularity he has, meaning it can't be left out of his shrine.

With that in mind, please enjoy the photos while finding it in your heart to forgive Gunpei's suspicious expression. 。゚(゚^ω^゚)゚。

Engine Soul

This is unrelated to Hant, but speaking of Go-Onger, for a while now I've been wanting to point out to the world the way some man screams "Ennnngiine SoHooooOOOl!" in a weird voice at the beginning of this commercial. It's so distinct that I guarantee you won't forget it after hearing it once. Hearing this voice in my head every time I hear the phrase "Engine Soul" is causing major problems in my life.

Cosplay Jacket
This cosplay jacket was an instant buy for me when I found it on a Japanese internet auction. I've rarely seen the official one for sale when searching, so I'm glad to get this one even if it's unofficial. It was in bad condition, with fragments of the fake leather falling off, so i meticulously repaired it by painting. I sadly mistakenly painted to stick out from line and the paint splashed everywhere. It's fine as long as no one looks too closely. Anyway, WHO IS BUE-ON the left chest patch?! This mis-spelling(?) only appears on Hant's cosplay jacket. The cosplay clothes maker's sewing machine couldn't embroider the text "Birca"? I have no idea why.
